After several hours of organizing and rearranging, I think my bags are successfully packed! I'm sure I'll forget something but everything's replaceable right? The flight leaves tomorrow from Des Moines at 2:30. From there we travel to Chicago then to LA. We'll go through customs in LA and board for the 12 hour flight to Auckland (N. island of NZ) Wed. night. We arrive in Auckland at 8 am on Friday morning. We then board a plane to Queenstown on the S. island. A teacher from our school will be picking us up and taking us 90 km to our home for the next 8 weeks in Alexandra, NZ. I hope to continue to update this quite often. I will let you know when I arrive safely in New Zealand. Much love!
Safe travel Mallory! One tip: TRY to sleep on the plane even though you will be excited, as you will hit the ground running and will take a few days to catch up on your sleep! I met quite a few teachers from New Zealand at The Flat Classroom Conference!
